Injection Molding Parameters

Process Parameter Reference Range / Recommendation Remarks & Descriptions
Drying Treatment Normally unnecessary; if improperly stored, dry at 55‑70°C for 1‑2 hours Polystyrene has low moisture absorption, while drying can further reduce the risk of product defects.
Barrel Temperature 180‑240°C Upper limit for flame‑retardant grade is 250°C; decomposition temperature is approximately 290°C.
Mold Temperature 30‑60°C Higher mold temperature improves part gloss and reduces internal stress.
Injection Pressure 40‑80 MPa (general GPPS range) Subject to part geometry and wall thickness.
Injection Speed High injection speed recommended (general suggestion for GPPS) High injection speed is preferred especially for complex‑shaped and thin‑wall parts.
Screw Speed 50‑100 rpm (general GPPS range) Avoid excessive screw speed to prevent shear overheating or material degradation.
